PANTHER1010 1 × 1m Ball Screw CNC Router – MASSO G3 Controller
The CNC Basix PANTHER1010 is a compact ball screw CNC machine and CNC router equipped with a MASSO G3 CNC controller. Designed for workshops, prototyping, engraving, woodworking, signage, plastics, acrylic, PCB work and selected aluminium applications, the PANTHER1010 combines ball screw drive systems, linear rails and closed-loop stepper motors in a compact CNC machine.
With a machine footprint of approximately 985 × 1020 mm and a 740 × 740 × 200 mm working area, the PANTHER1010 provides a practical CNC cutting area for customers who require controlled ball screw movement without the footprint of a larger CNC machine.
The machine uses HGR15 linear rails and SFU1605 ball screws on the X, Y and Z axes. Dual Y-axis motors drive the gantry, while four NEMA 34 closed-loop stepper motors provide the configured motion system.
The standard machine is supplied with a Makita RT0700C 700 W router, MASSO G3 CNC controller, automatic homing and auto squaring. Optional spindle upgrades are available for applications requiring additional cutting capability.
740 × 740 mm CNC Working Area
The PANTHER1010 provides a 740 × 740 mm working area with 200 mm of Z-axis travel.
The compact working area is suitable for smaller CNC projects, prototypes, engraving, signage, woodworking components, plastics, acrylic and selected aluminium applications with the appropriate tooling and machine configuration.
The open-ended machine design also allows longer materials to pass through the cutting area where the material can be repositioned during machining.
Ball Screw CNC Drive System
The PANTHER1010 uses SFU1605 ball screws on the X, Y and Z axes together with HGR15 linear rail systems.
The Y axis uses dual motors to drive the gantry.
The combination of ball screws and linear rails provides controlled movement for CNC routing, machining and engraving applications.
Closed-Loop Stepper Motors
The PANTHER1010 is equipped with four NEMA 34 closed-loop stepper motors rated at 4.5 Nm.
The machine also uses seven proximity sensors for axis homing and limit protection.
Automatic homing and auto squaring are included in the machine configuration.
MASSO G3 CNC Controller
The PANTHER1010 MASSO version is equipped with the MASSO G3 CNC controller.
MASSO G3 is an integrated CNC control system designed to operate CNC machines independently of a PC-based motion controller.
The controller integrates CNC hardware and software for machine control and supports router, mill, plasma and other CNC applications.
MASSO G3 provides built-in Wi-Fi connectivity through MASSO-Link, allowing a computer to connect to the controller for machine monitoring and G-code transfer.
The controller also provides a toolpath display, four USB ports, direct spindle control and MPG handwheel support.
700W Makita Router
The standard PANTHER1010 is supplied with a Makita RT0700C 700 W router.
The router has manual speed control from 12,000 to 30,000 RPM.
A 65 mm router mount is supplied for the standard Makita RT0700C configuration.
Optional spindle upgrades are available, including 1.5 kW, 2.2 kW and 3 kW air-cooled or water-cooled spindle kits.

Machine Requirements
The MASSO G3 controller operates the CNC machine independently of a PC-based motion controller.
A personal computer or laptop can be used for CNC design and CAM software and for generating G-code files. G-code can then be transferred to the MASSO controller using supported methods.
