SABER1727 1.7 × 2.7m Rack & Pinion CNC Router – MASSO G3 Touch Controller
The CNC Basix SABER1727 is a mid-size rack & pinion CNC machine and CNC router equipped with a MASSO G3 Touch CNC controller. It is designed for woodworking, signage, furniture manufacturing, plastics, acrylic, aluminium panels, engraving and other suitable CNC applications.
With a 1700 × 2700 mm machine footprint and a 1330 × 2250 × 200 mm working area, the SABER1727 provides a substantial CNC cutting area for workshops, sign makers, furniture manufacturers and businesses requiring more working space than a compact CNC router.
The SABER1727 uses rack & pinion drive systems on the X and Y axes, HGR20 linear rail systems and dual Y-axis motors. The machine is supplied with a MASSO G3 Touch CNC controller, 2.2 kW air-cooled spindle and VFD, automatic homing, auto squaring and limit protection.
The open-ended machine design allows longer materials to pass through the cutting area, providing additional flexibility when working with longer materials that can be repositioned.
1330 × 2250 mm CNC Working Area
The SABER1727 provides a 1330 × 2250 mm working area with 200 mm of Z-axis travel.
The working area is suitable for a wide range of CNC routing, cutting and engraving applications, including woodworking, signage, furniture components, plastics, acrylic and aluminium panel processing.
The machine is designed for materials that fit within its working envelope and does not provide a full 1830 × 2750 mm sheet working area in a single setup.
Rack & Pinion CNC Drive System
The SABER1727 uses rack & pinion drive systems on both the X and Y axes.
HGR20 linear rails are used on the X and Y axes, while the Z axis uses an HGR15 linear rail system with an SFU1605 ball screw.
The machine uses dual motors on the Y axis to drive the gantry.
The rack & pinion system allows high jogging speeds while providing controlled movement across the working area.
MASSO G3 Touch CNC Controller
The SABER1727 MASSO G3 Touch version uses a standalone MASSO CNC controller with an integrated 15-inch capacitive touchscreen.
MASSO Touch combines the CNC control hardware and software in a standalone system, allowing the machine to operate independently of a separate PC-based motion controller.
The controller provides 3-axis motion control, tools and work offsets, conversational routines, basic start/stop inputs, homing, real-time digital readout and job-status information.
The touchscreen interface provides direct access to CNC control functions and machine information during operation.
MASSO Touch also supports software updates through the MASSO system and provides an integrated CNC control environment without requiring separate PC motion-control drivers or cards.
2.2kW CNC Spindle
The SABER1727 is supplied with a 2.2 kW air-cooled spindle and VFD kit.
The spindle speed is manually controlled between 12,000 and 24,000 RPM, allowing the operator to select spindle speed according to the cutting tool, material and application.
The machine is supplied with 3 mm, 4 mm, 6 mm and 8 mm collets and cutting bits.
