SABER1727 1.7 × 2.7m Rack & Pinion CNC Router – MASSO G3 Controller

The CNC Basix SABER1727 is a mid-size rack & pinion CNC machine and CNC router equipped with a MASSO G3 CNC controller. Designed for workshops, sign makers, furniture manufacturers and production businesses, the SABER1727 provides a 1330 × 2250 mm working area for CNC cutting, routing and engraving of a wide range of suitable materials.

With a 1700 × 2700 mm machine footprint and a 1330 × 2250 × 200 mm working area, the SABER1727 provides substantially more working space than the compact SABER1222 while remaining smaller than a full-sheet CNC router.

The SABER1727 uses rack & pinion drive systems on the X and Y axes, HGR20 linear rail systems and dual Y-axis motors. The machine is supplied with a MASSO G3 CNC controller, 2.2 kW air-cooled spindle and VFD, automatic homing, auto squaring and limit protection.

The open-ended machine design also allows longer materials to pass through the cutting area where the material can be repositioned, providing additional flexibility for longer workpieces.

1330 × 2250 mm CNC Working Area

The SABER1727 provides a 1330 × 2250 mm working area with 200 mm of Z-axis travel.

The working area is suitable for a variety of woodworking, signage, furniture, panel processing, plastics, acrylic and engraving applications.

The machine is designed for processing suitable boards, panels and components within its working envelope rather than full 1830 × 2750 mm sheets in a single setup.

Rack & Pinion CNC Drive System

The SABER1727 uses rack & pinion drive systems on both the X and Y axes.

HGR20 linear rails provide linear movement on the X and Y axes, while the Z axis uses an HGR15 linear rail system with an SFU1605 ball screw.

The machine uses dual motors on the Y axis to drive the gantry.

The rack & pinion system allows high machine jogging speeds while providing controlled movement across the working area.

MASSO G3 CNC Controller

The SABER1727 MASSO version is equipped with the MASSO G3 CNC controller.

MASSO G3 is an integrated CNC control system designed to operate the machine independently of a PC-based motion controller. The controller integrates CNC hardware and software for machine operation, including axis movement, spindle control, homing, limits and configured machine functions.

Built-in Wi-Fi allows PC connectivity through MASSO-Link for monitoring machine status and transferring G-code files.

The MASSO G3 system also provides a toolpath display for viewing and positioning jobs, four USB ports for compatible peripherals, direct spindle control and MPG handwheel support.

This SABER1727 configuration includes a 32-inch screen, wireless keyboard and mouse.

2.2kW Air-Cooled CNC Spindle

The SABER1727 is supplied with a 2.2 kW air-cooled spindle and VFD kit.

The spindle speed can be manually controlled between 12,000 and 24,000 RPM, allowing the operator to select an appropriate spindle speed for the cutting tool and material.

The machine includes 3 mm, 4 mm, 6 mm and 8 mm collets and cutting bits.
